Damn, I hate art shows- especially when I'm in one. Right now I'm terrified something will go wrong, or no one will show up, and I'd like to crawl under a rock. I feel pretty small in this this town full of great talent, many artists with much more ability and pull than I will ever have. But I need to take my man-pill & get on with it... so I got a buncha beer:
Colin Michael Shaw- Assorted Mixed Media Works

A rare public showing of the artist’s eclectic mixed media and collage work showcased at www.shawart.com “My paintings are about a whole body of work- the work of my life. They are about color and design, materials and methods, exploration and experimentation. They are about the deep and unseen parts of the individual- they are about the hearts of men.”

My hand-painted table went for $100.00 at the Viva Cuba Chair-itable Auction this past Saturday, May 9th! My thanks to patrons Cate and Nick Sanazaro, who also landed my ROOSTER CHAIR in last year’s auction, for their generous bid on my little table- much obliged! Monies collected at the auction will go toward town beautification projects in my hometown of Cuba, MO, including upkeep of the town’s extraordinary public murals along historic Route 66- see http://www.cubamomurals.com./. Mission Accomplished!
I included 2 pictures of the table because it appears to change colors when viewed at different angles of lighting due to the metallic bronze paints I used...
