Any time I sell a painting, it's like a gift- I enjoy the activity, and that's enough. Selling one with such deeply personal meaning, however, is a vindication... My late, great painting teacher Charles SHOEmaker told me years ago "Paint what you know, Colin", and so I began to paint my interior on the exterior of anything put in my hands. It is sometimes painful & embarrassing, and often fails. Occassionally it's beautiful though, and someone can feel me through it- in those times our common humanity is shared on a deeper level, and I've done my job. Thanks Angie-
