Rudd Excavator

Rudd Excavator
digital photo, August 2016

Like a lot of boys young and old, I'm fascinated by construction machinery and usually try to get a shot when I discover one. This Rudd Excavator was parked up the road from my neighborhood this past August. See my June post on the Komatsu excavator!

Barrel of Monkeys

Barrel of Monkeys
digital photo, November 2016

From the Missouri History Museum's current exhibition, Toys of the '50s, '60s, and '70s, this Barrel of Monkeys set piece took on an apocalyptic 12 Monkeys tone through one of the filters on my phone camera apropos of the recent presidential election upset. May all be well.

The View

The View
digital photo, May 2016

This random shot for the Spies, Traitors, and Saboteurs exhibit at the Missouri History Museum has taken on new meaning for me lately, requiring no explanation considering the current political climate. Be civil to one another and remember that just because there's a circus going on doesn't mean you need to join in.

Little Black Dress No.2

Little Black Dress No.2
digital photo, May 2016

Another taken visiting the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park, where my family was attending the Little Black Dress exhibit for Mother's Day.  As I said in my last post, the spectral essence affected by multiple glass cases and overhead lighting was a gift, further revealing the feminine elegance of the exhibit upon review.

Little Black Dress No.1

Little Black Dress No.1
digital photo, May 2016

The photo of the Spirit of St. Louis replica featured in my last post was taken visiting the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park, where my family was attending the Little Black Dress exhibit with my mother and sister for Mother's Day. I must say it was surprisingly interesting and elegantly assembled, so much so that I had to snap a few pictures. The multiple glass cases and overhead lighting granted some spectral essence that pleased me upon review.

Spirit of St. Louis

Another attraction I love in St. Louis Forest Park is the Missouri History Museum, within the main hall of which a replica of the Spirit of St. Louis hangs. The airplane was piloted by Charles Lindbergh from New York to Paris in 1927- a trio that took over 33 hours! Click on the photo above for a closer view. See my August post on Forest Park!

Untitled, Donald Judd 1969
anodized aluminum, Plexiglas

I never tire of watching people interact with the Donald Judd boxes displayed in the new East expansion of the St. Louis Art Museum. See my July 2013 post and movie on the museum expansion and beyond. Thanks for reading!

The Boathouse, Forest Park

The Boathouse, Forest Park
digital photo, April 2016

Anther shot from my April 16" outing in Forest Park, The Boathouse. A Forest Park tradition since 1876. Oddly, I've not yet been on a boat in the lake there, perhaps due to the place being packed every beautiful day I've passed by. Must be as wonderful as they say! BMW Test Drive at Gateway Motorsports Park

I had the rare opportunity to go along to a BMW Test Drive at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison Illinois this past Friday, courtesy of Bullivant Gallery & Consulting in St. Louis, MO. I had such a great time with gallery director Robert, that making a short movie was the inevitable result:

Aside for the M4 we ran on the track, I also got to drive the iElectric Car, and sit inside a $150,000.00 i8 pictured below:

Forest Park, April 2016

From a beautiful morning this past April at the St. Louis Art Museum, Grand Basin, and surrounding area in Forest Park, a handful of a few dozen photos taken I meant to share earlier. Check out my post and movie about the museum's new East expansion and beyond from 2013. Click on the images for a bigger view...

Tree in Queeny Park- June 2016

Tree in Queeny Park
digital photo, June 2016

Since enjoying my recent birthday reacquainting myself with nearby Edgar M, Queeny Park, I've found myself returning on the weekends for some active pastime hiking the extensive trail system. The value of some time among the trees to appreciate what's left of our oft unprotected paradise is highly underrated, and the benefits are priceless.

Van Gogh the Cat

Van Gogh, named by my neighbour for his mangled ear & grizzled looks, lives outside the rear entrance to my apartment. The girls downstairs leave him food, so we meet occasionally, the animal always cautious of the moment. He has an okay life for a stray, living in a small house the neighbour put along the hedgerow, except for evenings his dinner is interrupted by a racoon. I tell him we have more in common than he might imagine, but he remains silent.

Queeny Park, May 3rd

I'm very fortunate to live down the road from  Edgar M. Queeny County Park, numerous in verdant trails and full of wildlife. So close in proximity is this hidden gem, I often forget to get over to enjoy it, as I did this past Tuesday...

Sunday Sunset, April

Another taken just from this last Sunday as the sun set on a beautiful day, just before I walked down the hill and shot the photo in my last post. The warm sun on my face as the wind blew through my hair felt so nice... I look forward to more of this as spring continues.

Creek, April 3rd

A shot of the suburban creek I run past in the mornings as I strolled by on a particularly beautiful Sunday evening recently. Spring is my favorite season, as the landscape awakes in blossom and green, and I'm reinvigorated again...
